Living in New Dorm
Seventeen Motlow Students are now living in the new dormitory at College Park near the school, and applications are now being taken for the spring quarter.
Bill Tipps, one of the owners of the tract being developed into College Park, said the second floor of the dorm has been completed and is being used. The first floor will be completed within the next few days.
Altogether, the building has 21 bedrooms designed for two students to each room, a visitors’ lobby and an apartment for the dormitory supervisor. The dormitory will also have a laundry room and lounge.
The dormitory will have house male students only.
The building is the first complete at College Park, which fronts the Old Tullahome-Shelby-ville Highway. The tract contains 450 square feet.
A section of the tract has been purchased for a Baptist Student Center. Four more dormitories for single students, three residences for faculty members, three dormitories for married students and a cafeteria-shops building are also planned.
Mr. TIpps operates the bookstore at Motlow. Other owners are David Parks, a partner in Segroves and Parks Realty & Auction Co. of Tullahoma; a W.C. Cooper, principal of Davidson Academy Elementary School in Tullahoma.
