Motlow Elects Student Head

Marshall L. Hix of Shelbyville is the new president-elect of the Motlow College student body. He will succeed Ward Dickens of Estill Springs as president next fall. Mr. Hix is a graduate of Shelbyville Central High School of Mortuaty Science in Louisville. He is married to the former Miss Lydia Butler of Shelbyville and is taking a pre-medical course of study. Mr. Hix works part-time for funeral homes in Bedford and Moore Counties.

Mrs. Sandy Dunn is the new vice president. Others elected in voting Thursday and Friday at Motlow are Miss Glyn Field of Wartrace, secretary, and Ray W. Harvey Jr. of Sewanee, treasurer. Mrs. Funn and her husband, Ronnie, reside in Decherd. She is the former Miss Sandy Bass, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Ralph Bass of Estill Springs, and is a graduate of Frankin County High School. She is majoring in elementary education.

Miss Field, the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Ivan Field, is a graduate of Cascade High School. She is majoring in physical education. Mr. Harvey is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray W. Harvey of Sewanee. He is a graduate of St. Andrew’s School and Vanderbilt University. He received a doctor of jurisprudence degree from the University of Tennessee and is studying aerospace technology at Motlow.
