LOVE
Fresh from the battlefield of love I emerged; Battered, beaten, broken, bruised and sole. Emotions like a worn out ship submerged I swore to God, of love I'd have no more. God laughed lovingly, my will he did not heed. For there on the horizon of my days, Appearing brilliant white on shining steed. You drew me in with gentle, caring ways. I saw the light of love shine in your face. Every fiber of my body stretched and strained To feel the radiant warmth of your embrace, And know the depths of love not yet attained. You taught me love makes life worth living, In joy, my love to you I'm giving.
Terry Lane
