Comprehensive Employment Training Act
Motlow College administers the Federal Comprehensive Employment and Training Program in the South Central District of Tennessee, representing a 13 county area. This is the fourth year in which Motlow has administered Federal Manpower Programs. These programs include a Public Service Employment Program, an In-School Youth Work Program for High School Juniors and Seniors, a Summer Youth Work Program, a Career Work Program and a Skill Training Program for critical skill shortage occupations. A total of 1,134 participants will benefit from these programs school year. Pictured are: Mr. Burl F. Poe, Program Administrator; Mrs. Rebecca Allison, Secretary; and Mrs. Sarah Hitt, Bookkeeper.

Public Service Employment
The Public Service Employment Program implements and funds Public Service jobs for unemployed and underemployed individuals with the counties and cities of the South Central Tennessee Development District. Those pictured are John M. Bennett, Director; Ben Fletcher, counselor; Judy Pearson, secretary; and Tracy Breed, clerk-typist. Not pictured: Charles McNichols, counselor.

Classroom and Occupational Training provides for training in an institutional setting to provide the individual with the technical skill and information required to perform a job. This training is designed to enhance the employability of individuals by upgrading skills and educational training. South Central Tennessee Development District
The District is a planning and technical assistance organization which servers thirteen counties, and twenty-one towns in the south central region of Tennessee. The main office is located at Motlow State Community College. The field office is staffed by Jim Baskin, systems analyst; Walter Wood, regional economist; and Mrs Joan Roark, secretary. Grant application assistance, functional planning, technical assistance on government program and regulations, research, and information are examples of the services offered to the region's governments, judges, mayors, and individuals.

The work experience program includes an In-School Youth Work Program for high school juniors and seniors and a Summer Youth Work Program. These high school students are provided jobs to help them complete their high school education.
