Season Record: 27 Wins 6 Losses

This year the Bucks started out on what promised to be a great season, and it was! The Bucks won 27 games and only lost 6 — the most wins that team has ever had. They also had their best record precentage-wise and broke the college’s record of nine games won in a row with 12 in a row. The Bucks had the highest team batting average in Motlow’s History with a .338 average. They also had the best team earned-run average with a 1.19.
Jim Harrison of Franklin led the team in batting with an average of .415, the highest batting average in Motlow’s history. Leading the team in RBI’s was Tom Nichting with a total of 28. Breaking his last year’s stolen base record of 22 bases was Robert Biggers. His stolen bases this year totaled 28.
Coach Jackie Reavis stated that Motlow had one of the best pitching staffs around this year because they had great depth. Johnny Hill pitched 13 ⅓ innings and gave up no earned-runs. David Couch won five games and lost none. Jerry Farrah and Randall Wilson also won five games.
Great as this season was, the Bucks truly gained fame and deserve a hearty congratulations!
