In fact, boldface lies are often as far from the truth as you can get. People who tell these lies have horrible intentions and no respect for their victim's feelings. No matter the subject of the boldface lie, it is typically the most damaging because of the liar's disregard for other people's feelings.

Whether it is a small white lie or a much more deceitful one, lies are always told for a reason. Many lies are told to avoid confrontation, while some are told simply to hurt others. To categorize different types of liars, pay attention to the reason for the lie, the significance of its subject, and the intentions of the liar.
