Description

Fear
Stephanie Majors
Reluctantly she walks
Down the dark alleyway
Like walking through a crypt,
Where dead bodies do decay.

She looks all around her
Carefully placing her feet.
This is Hell's masquerade,
Not just a cold, lonely street

She hears a mouse squeaking
And a rattling tin can
And she swears that she can hear
Whispers of a mad man.

She can feel icy hands
Closing around her neck
It's only in her mind.
She's a nervous wreck.

Her hands are trembling.
Her heart begins to race.
Her feet feel like concrete
As she quickens her pace.

Hey you, says a voice.
What are you doing here?
She hits the cold pavement.
Her body's shaking with fear.

She wakes up.
All is dark.
To her pillow
she does cling.
She had failed once again.
Fear is an awful thing.

Prayer Of Encouragement
Beverly Martin-Smith

Lord, I have a few requests,
For a special place and its guests.
Please let this building serve as a home,
For the people to call their own.
Touch each troubled heart that enters in,
So they might know they've found a friend.
Replace each fear that dwells inside,
With an honorable amount of pride.
Lift them up with your mighty hand,
Give them strength and help them stand.
Guide them Lord and help them along,
Show them a happiness they've never known.
Mend their spirit and let it soar,
Help them forget the scars from before.
Dear Lord and master, these blessings I ask,
Because no other could complete such a task.
Amen
