Today I saw myself for the first time
What I saw was an array of colors reflected from the eyes of you,
my life long friend
Perhaps I have only known you for a short time
But in that instance I knew I had known you for an eternity Seeing myself made me realize that I was a creation
Simple, yet filled with the beautiful thoughts of you, my friend Moment by moment slipped by us
As I grabbed my chest just to feel my heart beating
I reached to embrace each one in that very crevasse in my heart that was once empty but is
now filled with not only a friendship but kismet
Am I still here
Or have I been taken to that better place
Where lovers create a friendship that is surrounded by a profound
love
I feel as though I have been given that single breathe of longevity Has the God of all Gods brought us together as one to find that kindred spirit
I have looked
I have found
I can see
Now as I turn to see my reflection buried deep within
Are you looking
Have
you found
Can you see
Are you looking back at the reflection of yourself that I hold
Have
you found in my eyes what I have found in yours
Can you see me looking back at you
Each and every day I dream
But today my dream was a reality
Oh how I took it by the hand and walked along with it
As I walked, I memorized every move love made
How it spoke to me without saying a single word How it looked at me as I starred it in the eyes I am still walking Holding your hand Can you feel me
As I turn to exit
My presence remains
Every thought I have is of you
Every breathe I take is for you
The smell of your skin has yet to fade
And the reflection I see now when I look in the mirror is that of a
beautiful love staring
back into my own eyes.
