Description

Ambition
Melody Minter

She imagines herself on top of snow-covered mountains
A lemon yellow sun is her only spectator.
Pools of nothingness align the corridor to her world
A red light stands at the end of a tunnel signaling for sanctuary
She imagines herself as the keeper of lost souls
An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.
Pools of nothingness remain at the helm of her destiny
Boiling, red, and blind to its own existence.

Surrounded by gay bulls
I saw myself wrapped in Red
Their stares sharper then voodoo hits
Tougher than a red blood stain
Ole! Yelled the crowd in their mournful toreador 'fits
Ole! Thought the bull as he shook his hips
Tiptoeing towards tremulant hearts
Ever missing the dirt cracks
I saw myself turn white.
