Motlow names Cafeteria to honor Lincoln Bank’s $50,000 foundation gift
The cafeteria at the main Motlow College campus in Moore County was named the Lincoln County Bank Dining Hall during a recent dedication ceremony, according to Dr. A. Frank Glass, Motlow president.
The dedication was held in honor of a $50,000 gift made by the bank to the Motlow College Foundation’s endowment campaign. The bank’s pledge includes proceeds from the annual Lincoln County Bank Golf Tournament at $10,000 per year.
Last year, the bank-sponsored tournament raised $10,000 for the endowment fund. The Lincoln County Bank Dining Hall is located in Forrester Student Center.
“This gift to the college represents Lincoln County Bank’s continuing support of the college and its contributions to the communities in its 11-county service area,” said Charles Gleghorn, bank president. “Our pledge is an investment in the future.”
Glass said of Lincoln County Bank’s pledge to the campaign, “Lincoln County Bank is a tremendous supporter of the college, and we appreciate the institution’s faith in our mission of providing an affordable, quality education to citizens in our service area. It is through such generous support that the college can continue to move forward with a vision of unlimited possibilities.”
To date, approximately $630,000 has been raised through the endowment campaign, with $582,000 of that amount from naming opportunities, according to Glass. The campaign is headed by Dr. Sam Pate, professor of Sverdrup Technology Inc., and was kicked off officially last fall.
The Motlow College Foundation was founded in 1972 as a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation that provides funds for student scholarships, loans, grants, awards and other college needs. Jeff Golden, president and chief executive officer of City Bank and Trust Co. in McMinnville, is new foundation chairman.
